Quinoa
Quinoa originated about 5,000 years ago in the Andean region of Peru and Bolivia. Quinoa grows at the altitude between 8,000 ft. and 13,000 ft. which is generally inhospitable to other grains. The Incas referred to Quinoa as “The Mother of all Grains”. Quinoa is gluten free, high in protein, fiber, folate, iron, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese.
